What started as something new and unknown a few years ago when Table Mountain National Park built the path up to the top of Chapman’s Peak from Noordhoek beach for the Hoerikwaggo Trail, has now become a firm favourite for regular hiking. It is a really great path, whether you are doing it for a quick walk
for a bit exercise or for a leisurely hike up to the top, it is always a pleasure. We did no
t go all the way on Saturday due to time constraints but were are quickly up to a level to appreciate some of the most fantastic views in the peninsula. To get to the top you need to allow about an hour and a half to two hours, twenty minutes for a rest and to take in the views and an hour and a half down – so a four hour turn around unless you are with a fast hiking group. You have the best of all worlds – the beach, the views, the fynbos and a good bit of exercise.
