Wellington Valley, Western Cape (75km from Cape Town)
Hike through indigenous fynbos, vineyards, orchards and olive groves, and stop along the way to sample some of the Cape’s best wines, brandies, olives and cheeses. Walk at an easy pace and enjoy the scenery, as well as the cellar tours.
This trail stretches over 14 wine farms from Bain’s Kloof to the foot of the Du Toit’s Kloof mountain pass and takes in two buchu farms and a number of olive groves. Overnight on historic Huguenot farms that offer traditional Cape cuisine and South African hospitality.
This three to four day trail runs from March to November to avoid the summer heat. Suitable for most fitness levels.
